Kristy Lee Cook Leaves American Idol 2008

It's now down to the Top 6 in American Idol 2008.
Last night, and as expected, one of the girls was voted off the show and it was Oregonian Kristy Lee Cook!
Kristy and two other girls were in the danger zone yesterday ... they got the lowest number of votes for their not so good performances of Mariah Carey's songs the night before.
Kristy stood there, side by side with Syesha Mercado and Brooke White.
After her elimination, Kristy Lee playfully sat on the judges' table right in front of Simon Cowell and serenaded him with her performance of Mariah's song 'Forever'.

Next week, the Top 6 will battle it out with Phantom of the Opera composer Andrew Lloyd Webber! That's gotta be hard!

If Anwar is not "PM of Israel", What Then?

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 20:39:10 PDT
It is not the first excuse Anwar Ibrahim used to justify his attack on Dr Mahathir. He had used Dr Mahathir's remark on his ex-convict status and many other remark. When listening to Anwar's entertaining speech, be analytical and extra critical to his logic of arguments and conclusions. It's usually doubt-creating logic appealing to the simpleton masses and not supported by hard evidence and fact. Evidence and fact he presents are usually heresay or circumstantial or half complete information.

China Protest

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 20:51:00 PDT
On Tuesday, I was tipped off that an SMS was being passed around encouraging people to place a heart on their messenger and boycott Carrefour in protest at the Olympic flame's experience in France. Sure enough my messenger now looks something like this. There's no need to have an extended commentary on this except to say that nobody questions the Chinese people's love of their country. There's a lot to love, and I'm particularly fond of the people of Beijing. However all countries/governments

Baze: reactions elsewhere

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 21:01:43 PDT
Adam Liptak’s views on Baze in the NYT, private emails, & CJLF’s initial reactions (who, without reading, I agreed with on what quotes were the heart of the opinion) )indicate a near uniform reaction to Baze — we haven’t seen the last of lethal injection challenges. Today’s opinion appears to stand for the proposition that on the record before Court a successful challenge to lethal injection can not be had, and without more, lethal injection challenges in other jurisdictions must fail as we

Another Trend Style Day Emerges

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 21:06:13 PDT
Wednesday’s price action resulted in a type of “Trend Day” which gave nimble and aware traders an excellent opportunity to profit. Let’s take it point by point. 1. The morning opened with a gap just at 100 Dow points ($1.00 on the DIA). This was your first clue that we might have a trend day develop. The gap also occurred well outside yesterday’s range (reference my earlier post “Three Types of Morning Openings“). It’s sort of like a tornado forming. You get the initial watch and then the

Barack Obama & The Deathly Hallows

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 21:16:57 PDT
Professor Schaff posts on a current analysis of the electoral college, which appears to favor McCain over Obama. This will please Republicans given to wishful thinking. Something else that will please them is John Judis' article in The New Republic. To win in November, a Democratic presidential candidate has to carry most of the industrial heartland states that stretch from Pennsylvania to Missouri. That becomes even more imperative if a Democrat can't carry Florida--and because of his re

You will never enjoy My Little Pony or Magnum PI after this, or maybe you will. Jazzy and Greeny on the Emergency Planning in Ireland booklets. Free John Gormley, Tibet can wait. Jazzy again, take the cars off drunk drivers. Why not! A facebook group giving out that the Irish Times is too big. Make it Berliner. The Tony Fenton tree. No wooden or plank jokes. Bike Saddle Backpacks - The Cycle Bag (GALLERY)

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 21:49:19 PDT
Bike Saddle Backpacks - The Cycle Bag (GALLERY) The Cycle Bag is a bike saddle that can be carried, with two straps, as you would a backpack. I love this concept! As a long time resident of a large city, I know for a fact that owning a bike in a sprawling urban area such as New York can be daunting at times; the bike saddle, among other parts, can get "confiscated" in a New York second right from under your ass without you noticing anything. I exaggerate a bit, but you catch my drift. I love
